Rail Bridge Catches Fire in Tempe, Arizona
TEMPE, ARIZONA, US – A rail bridge over a lake in Tempe, partially collapses after the derailment and fire of several rail cars of a Union Pacific train.
The accident occurred at 6:00 am, causing closures of highways and streets in nearby areas, such as 202, between 101 and State Route 143.
As well as to the North of Packard Dr, Ash Ave 1st-Rio Salado, Mill Avenue and the Tempe Beach Park area.
About 90 firefighters were dispatched to control the flames and about ten wagons were damaged by the fire. Luckily none of the tanks with materials such as cyclohexanone and rubber-derived materials caught fire.
No injuries or deaths were reported in the accident.
