National Guard accused of killing 1 state agent and leave 1 more injured
CABORCA, SONORA, MX.- The Mexico National Guard released the beginning of an internal investigation to determine what happened in the incident of shooting confrontation amidst two fiscals agents of the State Attorney’s Office that occurred in Caborca.
The incident, that occurred Wednesday afternoon on a dirt road outside of Caborca, Sonora, resulted in one state agent lawyer death and another injured.
Luis Rodriguez Bucio, the general commandant of the Mexico National Guard, said that he ordered to begin an investigation and collaborate with all authorities to clarify this incident.
The chief said that he will not tolerate abusive practices.
The armed incident happened when Jose Ramon Reyes Rodriguez, state fiscal lawyer agent, and his sister Veronica, state lawyer titular of the Specialized Office for Teen Justice, traveling on a white Chevrolet Suburban on a dirt road outside Caborca.
For reasons not clarified, they presumably were attacked with gunshots by National Guard members which caused the death of Jose Ramon and injured his sister.
The State Attorney’s Office in Sonora regretted the incident and released that they will proceed according to the law to clarify the incident and punish the who resulted responsibly.
