Border Crossing During Pandemic

NOGALES, SONORA, MX- With hundreds of travelers going North, initiates the border crossings this Friday at Dennis DeConcini Port in Nogales.

The lane distance into the US was approximately 250 meters. The wait times were up to 50 minutes.

International border crossing into the United States from Mexico maintains the restriction for non-essential travel launched by the United States Government; that is, only U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents and essential travelers can cross into the U.S.A.

As well as emergency services, military operations, and legal employment issues, as well as educational and merchandise crossings.

According to the Customs and Border Protection Department (CBP), at 2 p.m. the border crossing time at Mariposa Port was about 50 minutes and was operated with three open lanes.

While at Dennis DeConcini Port the approximate wait time was 45 minutes with two standard crossing lanes and one Sentri lane.

The flow of border crossing into Mexico was normal, without restrictions, but, with the presence of sanitary filters at the entrance, where health workers were registering body temperature of the travelers.
