Ammunition Seized in Sonoran Ports of Entry
NOGALES, SONORA, MX – More than 29,000 ammunition were seized by Mexican customs authorities in the border ports of entry to Nogales and San Luis Rio Colorado, Sonora.
According to data by the General Administration of Customs (AGA), 20,000 cartridges were seized in Nogales, Sonora.
The official report states that a woman attempted to enter into Mexico aboard a pick-up truck with no license plates.
During inspection, authorities found several boxes containing 7.62 x 39 caliber firearm cartridges.
San Luis Rio Colorado
On July 23, another 9,057 cartridges were seized by customs authorities but this time in San Luis Rio Colorado, Sonora.
In both cases, the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR) was notified to start the investigations.
