Xolos’ Soccer Player Suspected Murderer is Imprisoned
CABORCA, SONORA, MX – Jose Jesus N, the main suspect in the homicide of the Caborca student and former third division soccer player of the Xolos team of Tijuana, Luis Carlos Cano Martinez, was formally imprisoned and subject to criminal proceedings.
The alleged murderer was arrested on Saturday during a joint operation between the Mexican Army and the Ministerial Criminal Investigation Agency (AMIC). Two more suspects escaped.
The day after, Sunday, the hearing was held. Jose Jesus N is now charged with the crime of murder with premeditation, which sentence could reach between 20 and 50 years in prison.
The suspect was captured in the ”Las Cocheras” area, in south Caborca, traveling in a red Dodge RAM truck, without license plates.
Inside the car, authorities located three AK-47 rifles, magazines and ammunition.
Luis Carlos, warmly known as “Titi”, was assassinated on August 21 outside a home in the Centro neighborhood, in Caborca.
