Violent Early Morning for Nogales

NOGALES, SONORA, MX – A violent early morning was endured in the South of Nogales town of Cibuta, located 30 kilometers south of the border wall with the United States.

Preliminary reports warned of cars being shot and at least two people killed.

One person was found around three in the morning in the sector Bellotoso located south of Nogales.

Authorities confirmed a second victim at 2:50 a.m. A male individual with a fatal shot wound on the left side of the chest, was left on the sidewalk in front of the Centro Médico de Especialidades.

When medical workers of this hospital located between Ana Gabriela Guevara and Alvaro Obregón streets, tried to help the victim, he was no longer alive.

The victim was wearing black pants, white socks and was not wearing any footwear.

Through the morning, shootings were reported near the town of Cibuta, 30 kilometers at south of the border, where police officers located an armored Jeep Cherokee with hundreds of bullet marks.

Near the area a pick up GMC was found, and hours later a gray Jeep Cherokee was found in the La Mesa neighborhood.
