Vice-President Kamala Harris and Mexico President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador talked today about Covid and Immigration
MEXICO CITY.- The President of Mexico, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, and the VicePresident of the United States, Kamala Harris, had a conversation this Friday where the main topics were immigration, Covid, and the situation on the border.
Both parts reaffirmed the intention to strengthen the bilateral cooperation to create safe work options for immigrants, and better conditions for the preservation of their human rights.
They spoke about the actual situation on the common border between both nations, with an intention for supporting the binational commerce based on epidemiological criteria and the evolution of the vaccination program in the border area.
Also, they agreed to boost the investments efforts in southern Mexico and Central America for strengthening the economic cooperation under the USMCA Trade Agreement, as a part of actions for the economic recovery post-Covid pandemic.
The US vice-president remarked on the values of dignity and respect that share both countries, saying that has been realizing the necessary efforts for built a productive relationship amid challenges like the economic consequences of the Covid pandemic.
