Vacant Lot Donation to the City, Will be Used as Cemetery for Those Lost to Covid-19
NOGALES, SONORA, MX – A vacant lot of 10,000 square meters (2.7 Acres) is donated to the Nogales City Government to be used as a cemetery for those lost to Covid-19.
During the extraordinary session held by the Nogales City Council earlier this week, local authorities and a board made up of community members approved the reception and use of this property.
The land is located in the area of La Mesa, located to the south of the city, confirmed the Nogales City Council in a press release.
The lot is part of an older cemetery that functioned in past decades.
As of Monday night, official data records 78 people in Nogales who have died of causes related to Covid-19. Official data also shows there have been 1,339 people that have tested positive for Covid-19 in the city of Nogales, Sonora.
