Up To 5 Hour Wait Time After Mother’s Day Weekend
NOGALES, SONORA, MX – On Monday, the border crossing points between Mexico and the United States through Arizona had wait times that in some cases exceeded five hours.
The long lines arrive after Mother’s Day weekend.
According to the Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the prolonged border crossing lines began early morning and lasted through the night.
At the Nogales Port of Entry Dennis DeConcini, the wait time to cross the border was two hours in the morning. At 6:00 pm it increased to three hours. Mariposa Port of Entry had the same conditions.
At the border in Douglas, the travelers had to wait two hours to cross the border into the United States.
The highest wait times were in San Luis Port of Entry, where the border wait time was four hours in the morning. Later at 6:00 pm travelers had to wait five hours and 30 minutes.
Last weekend Mother’s Day was celebrated, which is a grand traditional celebration for Mexican culture.
Despite the restrictions to prevent the spread of the pandemic of Covid-19, thousands of people were traveling across the borders between USA and Mexico to celebrate with their families.
