Up To 12 Hours Wait Time At The Border On Tuesday

NOGALES, SONORA, MX – On Tuesday, travelers waited up to twelve hours to cross the border from Mexico into the USA through the land port of entry in Nogales.

Hugo Eurosa travels every weekend to Nogales, Sonora, and on Mondays, he returns to Phoenix, Arizona, where he works.

Twelve hours is difficult mostly because of the bathroom breaks. It is very uncomfortable, I’m traveling from Nogales and I’m going to Phoenix,” he said.

Gabriel Munguia’s car broke down after eleven hours of waiting in line to cross the border through Dennis DeConcini Port of Entry.

I have been waiting in line since 1 a.m., it had been eleven hours when my truck turned off, some of the electronics burnt,” he said.

The city of Nogales assisted travelers by installing portable bathrooms and directing traffic.

Wait times at the border ports of entry in Nogales are back to normal. It is presumed that the wait times experienced yesterday were due to Memorial Day Holiday.
