Two Women Shot

NOGALES, SONORA, MX. Two women were shot during the early hours of this Saturday in Nogales, Sonora when they were traveling aboard a vehicle between Ruiz Cortines Avenue and 5 de Mayo street.

They were identified as Abril and Leticia, of 33 and 50 years old, respectively.

Official reports indicate that the incident was reported at 1:40 a.m. when 911 receive a report about a car that was found out of the traffic lane.

The officers arrived and found two women wounded by bullets, who were helped by paramedics of the Mexican Red Cross, who took them to the General Hospital where they were hospitalized with serious injuries.

Shortly afterwards, a 58-year-old woman arrived, who identified herself as the mother of one of the injured, claiming that everything had started on Cuernavaca street, near for there.

The agents went to Cuernavaca street surroundings and located bullet casings on La Paz street and a Mazda, model 2002, abandoned and with bullet holes in the front glass. Investigations continue.
