Two Women Sentenced for Drug and Money Launder Activities

PHOENIX.- Two Women Sentenced for Drug and Money Launder Activities by a District Judge in Arizona. 

They were sentenced for participating in multiple drug and money laundering activities.

The sentencing was carried out on March 9 for Consuelo Stephanee Peña, who is 29 years old and on March 16 for Dulce Avilene González Rosillo, who is  24 years, both reside in the city of Phoenix.

Peña was charged with committing several offenses related to drug trafficking and money laundering between November 2015 and March 2018.

Peña pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute heroin and one count of helping and encouraging money laundering, her sentence was two concurrent terms of 51 months in prison.

April 17, 2017 Event

Phoenix Police Officers came to the residence that Peña shared with her boyfriend in Phoenix.

While she was speaking to officers in front of the residence, she sent a text message to her boyfriend, warning him that police officers were in front of the residence and that he should escape through the back.

Peña wanted him to hide drugs that were located inside the house so they would not be found by law enforcement.

Pena’s boyfriend responded to Pena’s text saying he had thrown a bag over the fence.

Officers later located that bag, which contained two kilograms of cocaine, nine kilograms of heroin, and 84 grams of fentanyl.

December 7, 2016, Event

Peña gave her debit card to Gonzalez Rosillo so she could withdraw money from Peña’s bank account and move the cash to Mexico.

On the same date, González Rosillo was attempting to drive into Mexico with the cash, but she was stopped and searched by Customs and Border Protection. Officers found 7,802 dollars both on her person and in her vehicle.

Gonzalez Rosillo pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute heroin and one count of possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

July 2017 Event

González Rosillo was stopped in Nevada while driving two kilograms of heroin from Arizona to Washington state.  She was subsequently released from custody.

June 2018

González Rosillo was arrested for transporting 33 kilograms of marijuana near the United States-Mexico border.

Peña admitted that both her and González Rosillo were being paid to engage in this illegal activity and were splitting the fee.

González Rosillo was sentenced to 12 months and one day of imprisonment on each count, running concurrently, and her vehicle was forfeited.
