Two Men and Taxi Driver Shot on the Street
NOGALES, SONORA, MX – Three men, including a taxi driver, were shot during the early hours of Friday, April 17, 2020.
Two of them, identified as Javier N and Julián N, refused to provide information to the authorities pertaining the incident and declined to file a formal complaint.
The first man suffered a gunshot wound in left leg and hand, while the second man had a injuries on his right side cheek and shoulder.
The third man, identified as Gilberto N, the taxi driver, said that moments before he went to the neighborhood Lomas del Sol, East of the city, to pick up a person named Alonso.
Upon arrival, he was approached by two people who asked him to take them to a store called El Mezquite, on Adolfo Ruiz Cortines Avenue.
When they arrived at the store, a white vehicle Ford Escape approached them and several people got off the car and broke the front glass of the taxi.
The taxi driver escaped but the people started shooting at the taxi car causing injuries to the three men that were traveling inside.
A few kilometers away, near the area, the taxi driver was no longer able to continue driving due to the injuries on his body. He requested help from people on the street who assisted right away and took the three of them to a hospital.
