Two Men and a Woman Arrested for Carrying AR-15

CABORCA, SONORA, MX – Two men and a woman who were boarding a taxi cab, were arrested by police officers in Caborca, after finding an AR-15 rifle.

During an operation conducted by elements of the State Police (PESP), the Criminal Ministerial Agency (AMIC) and the Mexican Army (Sedena), they aprehend the 35-year-old driver of the Nissan Versa taxi, Marcos N. In addition they also arrest his companions Oscar N, and Paloma N of 30 and 19 years of age respectively.

Patrols and preventive checkpoints were installed in the area as a response to several citizen reports. Around 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 7, on highway Mexico 2 and Las Calabazas they intercepted the vehicle.

When the officers requested an inspection, they found a rifle-type firearm known as AR-15 wrapped with a blanket. It had a magazine and 30 useful cartridges.

The agents applied standard protocol and the three people were arrested, they secured a baby that the woman was carrying in her arms.
