Trusted Traveler Offices Reopen for In-Person Interviews July 6
NOGALES, ARIZONA, US – The US Government confirmed the reopening of trusted traveler enrollment offices on July 6, but only for the US-Mexico border. Enrollment offices at the northern border with Canada have no reopening date yet.
The Customs and Border Protection Office (CBP) announces that the reopening plan was designed in partnership with health and safety experts and includes measures that minimize the risk of exposure to Covid-19.
Beginning July 6, applicants for programs such as Global Entry, Sentri, and conditionally approved FAST can complete in-person interviews at most enrollment centers.
Applicants must schedule the enrollment center interviews in advance by logging into their accounts on the Trusted Traveler Programs website.
Nexus and FAST interviews between the United States and Canada at the registration centers will remain suspended until at least August 10, CBP announced.
The use of face masks is now mandatory for both staff and applicants, in addition to the additional measures recommended by the Centers for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC).
There will be staggered and reduced appointment availability, the removal of login sheets, and other contact points, as well as reduced seats in the waiting area.
Plexiglass barriers will be installed at the service counters, among other measures to promote social distancing.
