Trump Freezes Green Cards and Work Visas Until End Of Year

WASHINGTON –  President Trump has extended the ban on green cards issued by the United States until the end of the year.

The ban on new visas applies to H-1B, which are mainly used by technology companies, H-2B visas, for non-agricultural seasonal workers, J-1 visas for exchange students, and L-1 visas for managers of multinational corporations.

According to a senior official of the Trump administration, they will free up to 525,000 jobs for Americans.

Though there will be exemptions on this temporary ban such as H-2A agriculture workers, food processing, and health care workers.

The ban was originally imposed in April for 60 days, and it is now extended until the end of the year.
