Thief Sentenced to 8 Years in Prison

NOGALES, SONORA, MX – A young man was sentenced to 8 years in prison for robbery. He forced entry to a residential home and attempted to rob a gas cylinder, electric cables, and a copper pipe.

According to a press release, Sergio Alan N, a resident of the neighborhood Del Valle reported that on June 17 at 5:20 am he saw a thief enter his home and take his belongings.

Oscar Miguel N had taken advantage of the darkness at dawn to break into the house. Causing damage to the main access door and moving to the patio, he took a gas tank, electric cables, and pieces of copper pipe.

He gathered the items in front of the house and went back inside looking for more objects.

It was then when he ran into Sergio Alan N, the owner of the house. The owner did not hesitate to capture the intruder, overpowering him and calling the emergency phone line 911.

Local authorities arrested Oscar Miguel N participating in an initial hearing on June 19 where he was linked to the criminal case 214/2020.

However, upon seeing the forcefulness of the test data presented by personnel from the State Attorney General’s Office (FGJE), Oscar Miguel N requested the abbreviated procedure. The Judge sentenced him for the crime of robbery with violence and assigned a sentence of 8 years in prison and payment of 4,344.00 pesos to the victim.
