Ten Immigrants Rescued

TUCSON, ARIZONA, USA – Ten people were rescued under peak temperatures of 110 Fahrenheit, within 24 hours in the south border of Arizona.

CPB rescues immigrants in different areas of the state while temperatures were around the 110 Fahrenheit mark. Immigrants affected by the heat to the extent that some cases required air rescues. Helicopter emergency flights deployed to rescue and transfer immigrants.

During last week, CBP reported the detention of 21 migrants in a period of four days in the Yuma border region.

In a separate case, the Tucson sector caught one Mexican and one Guatemalan citizen of 20 and 19 years, respectively. They hid inside the trunk of a sedan driven by a Phoenix woman. The case occurred at the Amado Border Patrol checkpoint.
