Temporary Essential Travel Restrictions Extended Through August 20

TUCSON, ARIZONA, USA – Today, CBP confirmed the extension of the temporary restrictions for non-essential travel on border crossings from Mexico into the United States.

The temporary restriction is extended until August 20, announced in Twitter Guadalupe Ramirez, director of Field Operations in the Tucson sector.

Chad Wolf, acting secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), also spoke on social media about the extension of the restrictions for nonessential travelers.

He announced that based on the success of the existing restrictions and the close collaboration with Mexico and Canada, non-essential travel will continue to be limited at land border ports of entry.

In Arizona-Sonora the measure is applied on trips from Mexico to the United States and not from the United States into Mexico.

With the new date, it would be four months without interruption since the measure was implemented.
