Taxi Driver Forcibly Kidnaps Woman
NOGALES, SONORA, MEXICO – A taxi driver was arrested on Thursday for allegedly kidnapping a woman.
The detainee was identified as Jose N and the victim as Ofelia N. The victim did not suffer injuries.
Police officers received a radio report at 6:20 am on Thursday, saying that a woman was kidnapped by a man driving a taxi.
The agents initiated communication with the manager of the ServiTaxi company, who located the vehicle via GPS in the parking lot of Hotel San Noe, located on the International Highway at Southern Nogales.
On the way to the scene, police agents were informed that the taxi driver was now moving North and parked the car outside a self-service store at the entrance of the Villa Sonora neighborhood.
Officers arrived at the scene and saw a woman in the passenger seat and a man on the driver seat.
The woman reported that when she and a colleague got off work, both of them stopped a taxi, but suddenly, Jose N arrived parking his car in front of the taxi to block it. He got out of the car and walked towards the taxi, forcing the victim out of the taxi and into his car. The woman ran away and boarded another taxi.
The attacker then went to the second taxi and agan forced her out and into his own car and got away.
Officers arrested the suspect who will be prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office.
