Suspects Aband Car With Ammunition and Flee on Foot

SANTA ANA, SONORA, MX – Tactical equipment, magazines, and cartridges for firearms were found by state and military authorities in operations carried out in the region of Estacion Llano and Cucurpe.

The seizure happened by the Public Safety State Police (PESP) on a dirt road that leads from Llano Station to Cucurpe, Sonora.

The officers saw people boarding a car, who upon seeing the presence of the agents, fled.

After a short car chase, the suspects abandoned the car on the road between Sierra La Lamina and Cerro de la Culebra and fled. They were not captured.

Inside the 2004 GMC, Yukon thew agents found three ballistic vests, a tactical vest, magazine holders, 15 magazines, and around 520 cartridges, of which 308 correspond to Ak-47 type long weapons.
