Suspect in Magdalena Shooting is Arrested
MAGDALENA, SONORA, MEXICO – Horacio N of 21 years of age was delivered to Federal authorities after being arrested on suspicion of participating in the crossfire confrontations on Thursday, where a former mayor and two other people died.
He was captured Thursday afternoon after crossfire between organized crime groups was reported, in which he fired against State Police Agents and Mexican Army soldiers.
The alleged aggressor was arrested on Granados Street, during the arrest a 7.62 x 39 mm caliber firearm with a magazine, known as AK-47 and 28 useful cartridges, were seized.
The “Sicario” was immediately secured, read his rights, and put at the disposal of the Attorney General of the Republic, where they will continue with the corresponding legal procedures.
The operations continue in the municipalities of Magdalena, Santa Ana, Imuris, and neighboring ranches, an area in which close coordination will be maintained between the three levels of the Mexican government to strengthen and contribute to the safety of citizens.
