Suspect Arrested in Possession of Gun and Drugs

NOGALES, SONORA, MX.- In possession of a handgun and moments after firearm detonations were reported in the area, local police officers captured an individual.

The suspect was identified as Saul N, 25, who was carrying a .40 caliber gun, as well as 16 doses of crystal methamphetamine.

The arrest was made on Wednesday at 12:45 p.m. when police officers attended an emergency report about firearm detonations between 5 de Mayo and Pirinola streets, at East Nogales.

The caller also reported two armed men wearing blue and black clothing.

In Carricitos and Ignacio Zaragoza streets, the agents noticed a person whose characteristics matched one of the suspects.

The man tried to escape, but he was arrested and upon a body search the officers found a weapon and drugs in his clothes.
