Special Operations in Caborca and Altar Result in Several Arrests
CABORCA, SONORA, MX – Stolen firearms, drugs, and cars, as well as the arrest of several individuals, is the result of an operative in Caborca and Altar by elements of the National Guard.
Caborca
On the highway stretch from Caborca to Puerto Peñasco, elements of the National Guard arrested three individuals in possession of a rifle and aboard a stolen car.
The case occurred Thursday in the “Y Griega” area when they approached the occupants of a 2016 Dodge, Ram, 1500 pickup, where they located an Ak-47 rifle, eleven magazines and 350 cartridges.
The arrested are 29-year-old Roller P, 42-year-old Alejandro M and 24-year-old Edgar.
Altar
A Ford pickup, F350, 2001 was located by elements of the National Guard in the area of El Sasabe ranch, near Altar, Sonora. In the car, which also had an active stolen report, they found more than 100 packages containing a total of 500 kilos of marijuana.
In a separate incident, also in Altar, a .9-millimeter caliber pistol, one magazine and five cartridges, as well as drugs and cash, were seized by elements of the National Guard.
The incident, according to reports from that authority, was last Friday between Veronica Castillo and Jaime and Maria Luisa Celaya streets, on Obregon Avenue, where they saw a suspicious individual.
The subject wore a fanny pack and a communication radio, but as authorities approached, the suspect fled throwing the fanny pack.
Inside the fanny pack, officers located a pistol and bullets, 46 doses of crystal meth, a cell phone, a radio, and also 3,600 Mexican pesos in cash.
Following the suspect, they searched a nearby home, locating seven one-meter-high marijuana plants.
