Southbound Non-Essential Border Crossing Restrictions are Removed While Northbound Restrictions Remain

NOGALES, SONORA, MX – Restrictions for non-essential travelers at border crossings ports in Nogales, were only active for the weekend of July 4, confirmed federal government sources.

In Nogales, border crossing from the United States into Mexico is unrestricted.

Crossing from Mexico into the United States is another story. On July 21, it will be three months since the United States imposed essential-only travel when entering the United States through a land port.

Estimated border crossing wait times to the United States increase slightly on Friday and through most of the weekend. Border wait times average between 15 and 25 minutes.
