Skeletal Remains Found Over the Weekend

NOGALES, SONORA, MX – Skeletal remains were found last weekend by volunteers of the Colectivo Madres Buscadoras de Sonora near La Mesa, neighborhood, at South Nogales.

The remains had been burnt and were exposed in a property located a few meters from the Arroyo La Mesa, on the outsides of Las Choyas Section, approximately 15 miles from the International border.

In the information provided by the National Guard, the seeking group had about 30 women and 20 men, and the search work was carried out between 9:00 and 14:30 on Sunday.

The National Guard escorted the volunteers who scouted the area, where at least a dozen bodies have been detected in recent months.

In addition to the skeletal remains, they found pieces of clothing, hammer cartridges and tools.
