Mother’s Day celebration ends in tragedy
A week before the shooting, there was another family reunion where there was “some kind of conflict” between the family and Teodoro Macías.
COLORADO.- Because he was not invited to a Mother’s Day party last weekend, a 28-year-old individual killed six members of a family to finally take his own life.
The tragedy on Mother’s Day Celebration happened in Colorado Springs, where, according to local authorities, the reason that the subject acted in this way, was because he was not invited to the gathering.
The attacker, Teodoro Macías, 28, was in a relationship with one of the victims, Sandra Ibarra, 28, for about a year.
He had behavior of jealousy and control over his partner, said to the media the Colorado Police Lt. Joe Frabbiele.
The other victims of Sunday’s shooting were from Ibarra’s family and has been identified as Melvin Pérez, 30; Mayra Ibarra de Pérez, 33; Joana Cruz, 52 years old; José Gutiérrez, 21; and José Ibarra, 26.
Shooting on Mother’s Day
Investigators do not yet know how the shooter obtained the Smith & Wesson pistol-type weapon.
It was originally purchased by someone else in 2014 at a local gunshop but was not reported stolen.
The attacker had two 15-round magazines, one of which was empty, and the police recovered 17 spent cartridges at the scene.
The shooting occurred at a home in Canterbury Mobile Home Park on the east side of Colorado’s second-largest city.
Three children from the party, ages 2, 5, and 11, were not injured.
