Several Firearms Confiscated At The Border

NOGALES, SONORA, MX – A driver was arrested while trying to enter Mexico with an illegal shipment of rifles and magazines.

The identity of the driver remains undisclosed, but authorities found ten rifles, a handgun, and nine chargers in his car.

The arrest happened in the Garita Puerta de Mexico, adjacent to the Dennis DeConcini Port of Entry. The weapons were found during an inspection.

Also at the Cucapah Military Checkpoint, in San Luis Rio Colorado area, military personnel detained the driver of a tractor-trailer. It was transporting 19,300 fentanyl pills, 3 pounds of heroin, and 172 pounds of methamphetamine.

In both cases, the detainees and the drugs, as well as vehicles, were turned over to the federal authorities for the integration of the corresponding investigations.
