Sentenced To 9 Years For Homicide

NOGALES, SONORA, MEXICO – The General Prosecutor of Justice of the State of Sonora (FGJE) obtained a sentence against 27-year-old Oswaldo Enrique for intentional homicide who is pending a separate criminal process for drug dealing.

After an investigation by the state authorities was presented before a judge, Oswaldo Enrique was sentenced by a judge to 9 years in prison and to pay a fine of 17,376 pesos.

He was arrested on May 23, on Juniperos Street, in the La Mesa neighborhood, caught in the criminal act of possession of 30 drug wrappers.

The convicted murderer was in the middle of being prosecuted for selling drugs when he was also linked to a current homicide investigation.

The murder victim is 40-year-old Martin N, who was found dead on May 20 in the afternoon in the La Mesa neighborhood.

Oswaldo Enrique confessed that they were fighting each other due to personal problems and when he was knocked down, he repeatedly attacked the victim with a screwdriver causing neck injuries that killed him.

After the investigations, staff from the Attorney General of Sonora integrated a solid portfolio of investigations with evidence data reinforced with testimonials and scientific evidence, which led to the apprehension of the subject and subsequent sentence.
