Restrictions Do Not Stop Border Crossings

NOGALES, SONORA, MX – Groceries, tortillas, family visit, hair cuts, and even enjoying mexican food like mariscos and tacos are some of the reasons that border crossings by us residents and citizens into Mexico continue.

For the common Mexicans, like those who do not work legally in US or are not diplomats, the border crossing has been closed for almost four weeks, but not for U.S. citizens who continuously cross the border into Mexico.

According to the health workers at the sanitary filters that are installed at the entrance of Mexico, up to 2,000 people cross daily into Mexico from US.

When the health workers ask the travelers where they come from; most say they are coming from places like Nogales, Tucson and Phoenix.

This monday the border crossing lines were approximately 400 meters long and the wait times ranged from 45 minutes to one hour in the case of Dennis DeConcini Port of Entry.
