Police Provides Protection During Curfew

TUCSON, ARIZONA, USA – The Tucson City Police Department announced that they will use resources to enforce curfews in areas where violence and criminal destruction occurred on Friday and Saturday night.

Other police departments like Nogales and Pima County Sheriff Office will support the curfew watch during this week.

According to the Tucson Police Department, violating the curfew is a Class 1 misdemeanor, carrying up to six months in jail and a $2,500 fine, in addition to any other charges that might be levied against those arrested.

The National Guard reported that they are ready to support communities.

In a statement, the Nogales Police Department announced that they would support the curfew watch, although Nogales is fortunate to have not seen or experienced civil turmoil.

According to The Pima County Sheriff’s Office, they will direct efforts to comply with the curfew in those areas where violence and riots have been experienced.

During the curfew, it is expected to see emergency services workers like paramedics, nurses, the media, as well as individuals who travel directly to and from work.

They additionally expect those who attend religious services; commercial trucking and delivery services; food purchases; caring for a family member, friend or animal; sponsor or operate private businesses; seeking medical attention, or fleeing from dangerous circumstances.
