PESP Reinforces Citizens To Stay Home
Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico –
With the intent of providing timely care and actions for the security of Sonorans, the State Police for Public Safety (PESP) reinforces citizens to stay home by working in partnership with community members and tourists.
José Luis Urban Ocampo, General Commissioner of the PESP, explained that the operational deployments at municipalities of Sonora have been reinforced with personnel assigned to directly tend to families and collaborate with the State Government. Their instruction is to motivate families to be responsible citizens during this crucial time in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic.
He pointed out that even when social distancing must be practiced, PESP staff are working to create innovative methods to maintain a close relationship to families and fulfill their duties as crime prevention.
Urban Ocampo reported that patrols remain constant, covering the different regions of the entity, using the speaker in their patrols to communicate with citizens and share preventive information. They continue to visit areas with criminal incidence in response to anonymous complaints. They continue to monitor vulnerable spaces and areas such as schools, banks, shopping malls, among others, at night to prevent the crime of theft.
Proactive Patrols
Stressing that each state police officer maintains his commitment and vocation in service to Sonorans, he explained that daily elements of the PESP carry out patrols in the neighborhoods where they also install crime prevention checkpoints and reinforce citizens to stay in by proactively inviting pedestrians to get back to their homes.
“It is time to join efforts for protection and to preserve the life of all“, said the head of the PESP in an interview.
He pointed out that citizen proximity personnel seek dialogue with all those citizens who still do not abide the actions that have been implemented by the three levels of government with the “Stay Home” initiative.
Urban Ocampo added that in coordinated operations, the inspection and surveillance filters were reinforced in the different municipalities and in tourist areas such as Puerto Peñasco, San Carlos and Bahía de Kino.
