Over 20 Covid-19 Deaths in a Single Day

PHOENIX, ARIZONA, US – The death toll for Covid-19 in a 24-hour period exceeded twenty in the state of Arizona.

According to statistics from the Arizona Department of Public Health Services, as of this Wednesday, 5,459 infections and 229 deaths have been registered.

The percentage of positive cases in relation to the tests applied is 9% and the mortality rate per 100,000 is at 3.19.

Santa Cruz County, Arizona has 28 cases of infected people; Cochise  County reached 31.

The most affected counties continue to be Maricopa with a total of 2,846 cases, while Pima has 973 infections.

Of the 229 deaths from Covid-19: 168 have occurred in people of 65 years of age or older; 36 in the age range of 55 to 64 years and 19 in the age group of 45 to 54 years. The age range of 20 to 44 years has 7 documented deaths.
