Over 100 Pounds of Synthetic Drugs Seized in Nogales
NOGALES, ARIZONA, USA – Over 100 pounds of synthetic drugs, valued at more than a million dollars, were seized in the Nogales Port of Entry.
The shipment was located inside ceramic floor boxes, confirmed the Customs and Border Protection Department (CBP).
The detainee was a 63-year-old national of the United States, trying to cross the border in a car. He was sent to inspection thanks to the alerts of police dogs.
In the search, officers located 46 drug packages from the hollowed-out tile boxes.
The drugs found were 71 pounds of fentanyl (about 300,000 pills), 30 pounds of heroin, and 6 pounds of cocaine.
The drugs were seized and the person who was transporting them in a car was arrested and turned over to the United States Department of National Security, Immigration, and Customs Investigations.
