Only Essential Travel Allowed In Nogales
NOGALES, SONORA, MX – Last weekend the Mexican Army and National Guard, in partnership with local authorities, implemented PLAN DNIII to reinforce preventive filters that restrict non-essential movements of motorists.
The plan includes verifying that those who circulate inside the car are doing it for essential reasons (such as buying food, going to the hospital, or working).
The plan was implemented to help prevent the spread of Covid-19.
There were filters in areas such as Carretera Internacional and Tepic street; Boulevard 2000; Avenida De Los Maestros, Luis Donaldo Colosio and Jesús García, among others.
The military and health personnel checked the temperature of the motorists, while local authorities verified license plates and driver licenses.
To date, according to Alberto López Rodríguez, Public Safety Commissioner, around 150 vehicles have been seized since the installation of the preventive filters.
The causes have been primarily due to violations of traffic laws, in addition to the fact that the trip reasons were not essential.
