Nogales Mourns Possible Suicide of a 14-Year-Old Girl

NOGALES, SONORA, MX – A 14-year-old girl lost her life on Thursday afternoon, in an incident that local authorities presume was a suicide.

The case was reported at 5:00 pm when local police officers were called to go to Astolfo R. Cardenas Street, where the Infonavit 5 de Mayo Housing Complex is located.

In that place, they were informed that a minor, whose identity is concealed, had shot herself in the right side of the head.

Agents spoke to the young woman’s mother, who said that when she arrived at the home, she found her daughter unconscious on the bed, with bloodstains and the gun in her right hand.

Lifeguards from the Mexican Red Cross arrived at the scene but the minor had already lost her life.

The handgun, declared the mother of the teen, is the property of her partner who had it at home for his protection.
