Nogales Mourns Death of 10-Year-Old Boy

NOGALES, SONORA, MX – A very sad Thursday afternoon in Nogales after the death of a 10-year-old boy, who lost his life after falling into a sand trap.

The tragedy occurred around 5:20 pm near the neighborhood Real del arco. Authorities were alerted that a small boy had fallen into a sand trap filled with rainwater.

Local police officers and Mexican Red Cross were dispatched and managed to retrieve the lifeless body of the minor. Despite several attempts, they were unable to revive him.

Shortly after, workers from the Fire Department arrived to secure the area. The sand trap, with a depth of over two meters in depth, was still uncovered, representing a risk for everyone, but especially for minors who play near that area.
