Narcotics and Weapons Seized
YUMA, ARIZONA, USA – Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents working at the immigration checkpoint on Highway 78 near Palo Verde, California seized narcotics and multiple loaded handguns from a vehicle.
According to a press release, on Sunday the agents encountered a 42-year-old male U.S. citizen and a 39-year-old female U.S. citizen in a Chevy Silverado Sunday afternoon.
After a Border Patrol canine unit alerted to the vehicle, agents referred the vehicle to the secondary inspection area.
Agents discovered 100 assorted pills that included ketamine, oxycodone, Xanax, and other unidentified pills; two jars of marijuana oil; $1,000 in cash; and two loaded Glock .9 mm handguns with several magazines.
The narcotics and firearms were seized, while the case was turned over to Homeland Security Investigations.
