Mom to be Requests Ambulance but Gives Birth at Home with the Assistance from the 911 Operator

SAN LUIS RIO COLORADO, SONORA, MX – With phone support from 911 operator Jose Julian Balderrama, an 18-year-old young woman gave birth to her 8-month-old baby.

The case occurred Monday morning inside the new mom’s home, located in the Reforma neighborhood, in San Luis Rio Colorado.

According to a report by the Sonora state authorities, the woman named Fernanda N called 911 to request an ambulance because she had labor pains.

During the call, the young mother indicated that birth was coming, so the call operator of the C5I of San Luis Rio Colorado immediately assisted her by telephone so that the baby was born safe and sound.

At 8:40 am and during the call, the baby was born.

The boy and her young mother were transferred by ambulance to a local hospital where they received required medical attention. Both baby and mother are doing well.
