Mexico Enters Covid-19 Phase 3 – Border Crossing Restrictions Unchanged
NOGALES, SONORA, MX – The declaration that Covid-19 Phase 3 begun in Mexico, has not led to additional local restrictions for commercial and passenger border crossings between Mexico and the United States.
Operation at the ports of entry continues to be managed under the same guidelines agreed by the customs authorities of Mexico and United States put in place weeks ago.
The Dennis DeConcini Port maintains its operation 24 hours a day with two passenger lanes and a Sentri lane for essential travel only, as it has done for the last a month.
The Garita Puerta de México maintains crossings into Mexico with no restrictions, except for a short stop at the sanitary filters set at the entrance of the mexican territory where health workers check travelers’ body temperature.
The Mariposa Port of Entry continues the same as it did almost two weeks ago, with a daily operation from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. It maintains the same hours of operation on its passenger lines and it maintains the suspension of commercial shipments only on Sundays.
The suspension of commercial shipments on Sundays will be re-evaluated by the customs authorities on May 17; they will then determine whether to continue closings on Sunday for commercial crossings only or to remove the suspension.
The Morley pedestrian border crossing remains closed.
