Mesa Family Mourns Death of One-Year-Old Killed in Gunfire

MESA, ARIZONA, USA – Local authorities are seeking information that may lead to the arrest of the suspects that opened fire at a family that was having dinner at a food truck area. Seven people were injured during the incident, three adults and four minors.

A spokesman for the Mesa Police Department reported that the injured minors were of ages 16, 9, and 6 years, as well as a one-year-old baby who unfortunately passed away.

Police have not released their names.

In a press conference, they confirmed that the attackers were boarding an SUV, they stopped on Guadalupe Street and started firing at the families gathered in that Food Trucks area at the junction with Dobson Street.

The victims were eating at tables around 9:30 p.m. on Friday night.

The shooters escaped and no further information has been released in relation to this case.

Ken Cost, chief of the Mesa Police Department, considers that the attack is unacceptable.

“They crossed the line. They shot children. It’s unacceptable,” he said, asking for the public to assist.
