Maquiladoras, Through Proyecto Nogales, Donate $10,000 in Safety Equipment for Nogales’ Health Workers
NOGALES, SONORA, MX – Maquiladora industries in Nogales donate protection equipment for health workers with a total value of $10,000.
The beneficiaries are Nogales community hospitals that receive Covid-19 patients: Seguro Social, Issste, Isssteson, and Hospital General.
Daniel Rivera, director of the group Proyecto Nogales, said that the donation consisted of a total of 3,995 items.
The donations was made up of N95 masks, face-masks, overalls, safety goggles and gloves.
Proyecto Nogales accrues its social support fund through its members. Each affiliated company donates 50 cents a month per each one of its employees. The association Proyecto Nogales then determines the beneficiary of the fund through a committee made up of its members.
Proyecto Nogales’ members are Sistemas Textiles, Amphenol Optimize, Atronix, Badger Meter, Beckton Dickinson, CA Spalding, Continental, CR Bard, Deringer, Dormakaba, Evans Manufacturing, Human Scale, Javid de Mexico, Master Lock, MTD, Pencom, General Cable, TMLC Safes and Weiser Lock.
The group Proyecto Nogales announced that the company Master Lock will be donating three ventilators in a few days. In addition, Chamberlain Group will donate $5,000 to purchase more health protection equipment.
