Mandatory Use of Face Masks and 25 People Passenger Limit
NOGALES, SONORA, MEXICO – Sonora authorities stipulated that starting this Tuesday, the use of masks is mandatory when traveling on public transportation buses as well as no more than 25 passengers at a time.
The stipulation will be mandatory for all public transportation users in all cities in Sonora including all cities with Ports of Entry into the U.S.A. such as Nogales, Agua Prieta, Sonoyta and San Luis Rio Colorado
The measure, according to the Department of Transportation officials, is to mitigate the spread of Covid-19.
The provision was at the recommendation of the State Health Council during the current Phase 3 of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The next two weeks are considered the most critical days of the pandemic in Sonora cities, these measures are issued to prevent further infections.
Authorities urge the community to use urban public transportation only for essential reasons.
The restrictions are not only for urban public transportation but also for transportation services that service the industries and for taxi services.
In some cities in Sonora, the number of buses in operation will increase starting Tuesday, to avoid a shortage of transportation units.
