Local Authorities Urge U.S.A. Residents to Avoid Cemeteries

NOGALES, ARIZONA, USA – Local authorities urged U.S.A. residents and citizens to refrain from visiting cemeteries this weekend for Mother’s Day.

The goal is to avoid crowds and prevent the spread of the Covid-19.

Alberto López, chief of the Police Department, announced that parties and serenades will be prohibited.

According to the Sonora health authorities the next two weeks represent the days with the highest risk of infections.

“Cemeteries will be closed this weekend to avoid crowds, we don’t want cemeteries to become a zone of transmission of the virus,” he added.

The police chief also called on the local community to avoid social gatherings this weekend.

“We know that these are very special dates, especially for Mexicans who are deeply rooted in these traditions; We need to modify this year’s mother day traditions, I think that all Moms will understand, he said.

“Starting May 9 and through the weekend there will be roundabouts in the neighborhoods to prevent and break up serenades”, the police chief announced.
