International Travelers from USA into Mexico are About the Same as 2019, Despite Covid-19

NOGALES, SONORA, MX – Despite the Covid-19 pandemic that has claimed the lives of nearly 3,000 people and infected more than 100,000 people in the states of Sonora and Arizona, the entry of travelers to Mexico on Thursday, right before the holiday weekend, was about the same when compared to last year before the threat of the pandemic.

Juan Gim, administrator of the Mexican Customs division in Nogales, reported that on Thursday 1,933 vehicles entered Mexico through the Mariposa port of entry. The same day last year, 1,015 vehicles crossed the same border.

3,532 vehicles entered Mexico through the port of entry Garita Puerta de Mexico. The same day in 2019 the entry log shows 4,601 vehicles.

the Fiscal Precinct (Recinto Fiscal) documented a total of 949 vehicles passing through. The same day last year, 840 vehicles were documented.
