Immigrant Safe House Found
NOGALES, ARIZONA, US – After a traffic stop, Nogales, Arizona Police officers, and immigration authorities discovered an immigrant safe house in Nogales, Arizona.
In total, 24 people were arrested and nearly two pounds of fentanyl were located inside the home.
According to reports from the Department of Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the incident happened after local authorities detained the driver of a Honda.
Agents asked for support from the Border Patrol on suspicion that they were traveling undocumented.
Upon inspecting the driver’s documents, agents found that the driver was a legal resident, but the two companions were undocumented immigrants from Mexico.
Near the site of the arrest, officers located a safe house where they found 21 undocumented immigrants, also from Mexico.
One of the immigrants was linked to the “Sureños” gang. Officers also found two pounds of fentanyl.
The location of the house was not disclosed by authorities.
