Gunmen Arrested After Shooting
HERMOSILLO, SONORA, MX – An armed man was detained Wednesday by state police agents moments after a reported shooting in the Mision del Sol neighborhood in Hermosillo where one person was assassinated.
The incident happened at 4:40 p.m. when police officers received a report about gunshots in Constituyentes avenue, between Uno y Dos streets.
State officers activated a Code Red, which triggered operators of the Public Safety Secretary to focus on the scene.
The video surveillance agents followed the escape of one of the gunmen who was driving towards the Monteverde avenue.
More officers were sent to the area and were able to locate a white Chevrolet Tahoe. In the persecution the driver collided with a lamppost near to Jose Healy street.
The occupants tried to escape the scene on foot, but one of the suspects was caught with a handgun. The suspect will be turned over to the investigators in this case.
Minutes later three more suspects were caught.
To date, the name of the victim and the motive are undisclosed by authorities. The investigation continues.
