Government Officials Test Positive for Covid-19

HERMOSILLO, SONORA, MEXICO – The Secretary of Government, the Secretary of Labor in Sonora, as well as the Mayor of Hermosillo tested positive for Covid-19.

On Saturday, it was confirmed through official social media accounts, that Miguel Ernesto Pompa Corella, Secretary of Government, as well as Celida Lopez, Mayor of Hermosillo, had the virus.

A few days ago, Horacio Valenzuela, Secretary of Labor in Sonora, also tested positive for Coronavirus.

In Sonora, 109 deaths and 1,501 cases of Covid-19 have been recorded. This second half of May is considered the period of accelerated spread of Covid-19.

Claudia Pavlovich Arellano, Governor of Sonora, reported having undergone the Covid-19 test and testing negative for the presence of the virus.

The infected officials recover in isolation at home. No hospitalizations have been reported.
