Fresh Produce Will be Processed on Sunday

NOGALES, ARIZONA, USA – The Mexican Customs Division in Nogales and the Department of Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agreed to open the Mariposa commercial crossing this Sunday, June 7 for processing trailers with merchandise for export to the United States.

Hours of operation for northbound shipments will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. exclusively for exports of fresh products such as grapes, whose season is on the rise.

For the passage from USA to Mexico of empty trailers, hours of operation for southbound shipments on Sunday will be 11:00 a.m. at 4:00 p.m.

Juan Gim, director of Puerto Nogales, reported that exports to the United States have been maintained over the past years, this week they documented over 1,750 shipments across the border.

During the following week, the authorities of Customs authorities from Mexico and from the United States will meet to determine if next Sunday the Mariposa commercial crossing will be reopened for export processing.
