Fatal Taxi Driver Accident Near La Mesa

NOGALES, SONORA, MX – A taxi driver lost his life when he crashed into a wall of the La Mesa neighborhood bridge, in the south side of the city of Nogales.

The deceased was identified as 26 year-old Marco N. He was traveling on a white Honda used as taxi with the permit number PE5252 /16.

The accident happened at around 11:40 am. Red Cross paramedics and Fire Department personnel were dispatched to the elevated bridge located on the International Highway and the access to the La Mesa neighborhood.

At the scene, they located the car impacted against a retaining wall of one of the ramps. When the rescuers and local authorities arrived, they confirmed that the person had died.

The causes that led to the accident have not been established, but authorities mention speeding could be one of the factors that caused this fatal accident.
